Thank you for your interest in the Massage Therapist Position.
As you can see from our website, our office is a place of peaceful healing. The feeling people get when they are here is almost as important as the care they receive...people often want to stay and linger, drinking a cup of green tea before they go back out into the world.
Our staff truly functions as a team: one chiropractor (me), several massage therapists/chiropractic assistants, and our person-of-many-tasks up at the front desk.
Our office hours are Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 9-12 and 3-6. We offer massage to our patients on a cash basis and also bill insurance during these hours. (Read below as well to see the options to work further in our spa location two doors down…)
· You must have your current VA State Certification (a requirement for billing insurance for our services in Virginia). · Experience is necessary. We see a variety of patients for a variety of reasons, but often we see acute/injured patients, and I feel that someone who has had a fair amount of bodies under their hands has the good judgment required to make decisions on-the-fly while working on these types of people. · You will NOT be required to work all of these hours. You may work one day, two, or all three depending on your schedule and needs. · Familiarity with a variety of techniques is important.
What we offer: · Probably the lowest-stress job you’ve ever had, in a great environment. · Wonderful patients that we have a tendency to become friends with. · Compensation is hourly combined with a per-unit charge and is commensurate with prevailing local rates. There is a base pay of $10/hour plus work-performed additional compensation for each 15-minute unit. Sounds a little complicated, but that’s how insurance is billed. It boils down to around $22/hour when we our schedule is full, which is usually. It is a payroll position, so we pay your FICA and do tax deductions as you indicate. · Benefits include unlimited complimentary chiropractic care for employee and immediate family. · We are fairly flexible when you need time off, within reason. · We supply all the necessary ‘supplies’ of the services, although you may be asked to help fold sheets during down time (not that that’s a surprise!). We always have olive oil on hand. Most therapists bring their own oils of preference, but it’s not necessary.
In addition to working at the Chiropractic office, all therapists who work at least one day are then offered the opportunity to work on an independent-contractor basis (no taxes or FICA deductions, and a 60%-40% split with 60% going to the therapist) at our spa, two doors down. Mind, Body & Spirit on Colley offers massage and esthetician services seven days a week. Again, you may name your hours to fit your schedule. (see www.spaoncolley.com)
Or send resumé/cover letter to office at: 1906 Colley Avenue, Norfolk, VA 23517 (no phone calls please)
Have a wonderful day! |
